Thanks, Sam. Did that and got an instant answer! Should have thought of that myself. Appreciate the suggestion. (Answer I got: keep and reuse that double row bearing as it is better than the OEM bearing.)

Took the engine block and crank to the machine shop. Won't know situation until next week. Shifted focus to body work. Got fenders, seat, etc. on. Will install the steering wheel center decal, tail lights etc. next.

Still waiting on word from the machine shop on the engine block situation. Spent most of the weekend on Honey-Dos and yard work. Got a little time in the shop last night and finished up the tail light wiring.

I straightened out the oil fill tube, closing the gap at the roll seam at the bottom, then brazed it to seal it. Cleaned things up and reassembled with a new o ring.

At this point I'm basically waiting on the engine to finish up this build. Some engine sheet metal got painted as well.

Finally heard back from the machine shop, cylinder will go .030 over (mic'd at .025 at several points) and the crank will make it at .020 under. (was worn at one point to .019!) Pleased that my attempts to mic the bore and crankshaft were pretty close the the machine shop's results.

Ordered this kit and a pair of main bearings. Should get the block back by next week.
