All of this is after removing the grill shell, hood, side panels, and front motor tins. You said it had a M18 in it? Here is a link to the sevice manual; http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=4648 |

How could anyone ask $450 for a tiller?!!! I've bought $50 tractors with tillers. 2 tractors and 2 tillers for $400... I've got 9 tillers now, any takers?
once you get that 782 everything else you have wont get used. Those tractors are just the most beautiful looking a driving thing ive ever seen. congrats!

well i got it hone yesterday...found a few things wrong with it. first, it leaks oil pretty bad out of the front seal (just got done replacing that about 10 minutes ago. NO LEAKS!) now i gotta remember how the PTO goes back together.
the trunnion on this is SHOT. needs to be rebuilt. hopefully it goes better than the 1450 i had. ill try to get pics when shes all back together. i washed about 20lbs of grease, oil, dirt and grime off of it before it came home....then got into the engine compartment and washed another 10lbs out. haha. runs perfect. the PO before me was nice enough to write down the hours and date of EVERY oil change since the new 18hp magnum was put in it in 1995. so thats cool. |

another update....to my surprise....the trunnion is fixed. i welded a piece of keystock to the outside to basically remake the outside edge and it worked. hydro is nice and smooth. im going to drain the fluid and put a new filter and fluid in before i use it much more. but its a slick machine. the hour meter....at 2789 hours...still works.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
