This is why I keep jumping on you cooperino. You talk and talk and post and post, but you just don't know the specifics enough to give accurate information. Either take the time to go to Cub Cadet (not tractor data) and look up the parts, then find an appropriate replacement that works, or just quit giving out info!!! Good thing Beth was paying attention.

To the OP:
Are you sure the PTO isn't locked up?
OH YEAH! good thing! .. if you look at my post. I stated. If I looked up the correct engine I saw complete engine for $999.. I never said I knew this for fact. The post seemed to be more about can it be rebuilt than can it be replaced. At which time I asked the appropriate questions. DID I NOT???
NO WHERE did i tell the OP BUY THIS ENGINE AND IT WILL WORK.. It is up to the OP to look at his engine serial number and get the correct engine.

Yes, or starter bendix jammed in the out position, or have seen Mickey the mouse nests jammed in the blower housing too

No, because it is correct.
I'm only trying to make sure correct info is given. If you are correct, you will get no response, or I will agree. If it's wrong and I catch it, it will be corrected. Just look up the info if you aren't sure and there is no issue.

That Kohler Command is a pretty stout engine and if it doesn't have a hole in it they are worth rebuilding... If it is a basket case inside, look for a 2/3000 series cub... 2185 etc. and repower with one of those....You can pick them up sometimes real cheap off of CL..

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
