Default here's one for sale

looks a little rough but usable. These machines remind of deck boats with all that superstructure up top. Where were these made? thanks

Default Cub Cadet 85

this is my $65 find
It stripes. It cuts very nicely.
It has zerk fittings on the zerk fittings
It takes more than 1/2 and hour to get all the fittings greased.
I used it to cut about an acre of field, but with the little tires and no springs it rides too hard for me.
I have used it in an experiment to pull the cart and 4 5 gal pails of top soil up a 30 degree slope in second gear.
did it.
I feel like forest gump driving it.
It was seldom used, because most of the paint is still on the idler pulley.
I bought it to rescue it from a scrapper,
It is sad to say that not a single thing you can buy today is built with the care and craftsmanship that this little mower has.
If a cub person is interested I would like to see this go to a good home.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
