That should be a pretty good set, I've got about a 25 year old version of those. I did order an extra set of points for mine when I bought them--just in case.

Yup, I bought the channellock ones when I tore the rear end apart on my 2182. Worked much better than the cheap ones I threw across the room. Didn't regret buying them one bit.

OTC has served me well over the years... I have this simple two piece set.. I've probably had them 25 years and never broken a tip.. I gave up on the interchangeable tip design years ago.. they always seemed to break.

I have one very similar to the 927 but different brand. I dont use them often but theyve done everything Ive ever needed them to. Except the shifter retainer ring on my truck, so I just bought a bigger version of them. I really like that one tool replaces a whole set of the cheap ones.

I've tried those kind with changeable tips, while ok there are times there are just no room for them in tight spaces.
I have a couple of dozen ++ of various internal and external snap ring pliers with brand names like truarc, proto, snap on, otc etc.
I don't have unbranded, but in my day china was not a factor.

I've got a 12 piece set by Matco that looks very similar to the OTCs that Jaynjeep posted. I don't know the OEM (I think it may be Lang Tools, but not certain). I know they offer smaller sets with different tip sizes and angles.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
