Don't know how rare the decals are to find as replacement, but you may want to get some good pics of them and see if someone wants to reproduce them, just thinking about this "hobby" in general.

I have posted some pics of the decals on this blower. please keep in mind that I have not cleaned them up yet. I also found a place on the net called Vintage Reproductions that have some of the decals for the Q-36 and Q-42 blower.

Looks great to me. I think I would leave the decals alone as they look to be in great shape. Very nice work.

PS your snow man wants to be outside

To answer the question where in Maryland am I. Westminster is where I live, Just finished assembling the auger and new bottom skid bar on the blower. I had to order special bolts due to the local store just do not carry what was on the blower from the factory. The auger bearings were like new so I reused them but installed everything with all new bolts. I will keep posting pics of progress as I continue to refinish this QA42A Thrower

enjoy
Robb

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
