I use the leaf blower on mine after every mowing and scrape the bottom with a putty knife to remove the caked on grass. Before I put it away for the season, I scrape the bottom, use a wire brush on it, and then use an old paint brush and "paint" on some used oil on the underside of the deck. NEVER use water on it. No rust yet...

I blow my cub & deck after cutting before pulling into the garage. Helps keep the garage cleaner. After the last cutting I turn the deck over on its side power wash it, change the blades, & stow away in the garage. Happy- happy.

I've been pressure washing mine every year since 1992. Then blow it off dry with the air compressor and paint.
No rust on mine. Also original spindle bearings.

All I know, if I don't blow the dead grass off the deck of my 100 and 124, the mice build nests in them over the winter. Mouse pee is surely corrosive!
