Default battery
Both of my Cubs came (used) with Group 26 car batteries, which is way overkill for these motors. I replaced one with a 350-amp L&G battery, which works great and should be much cheaper. You can usually find these on sale in the Spring.

Got it going, cranks, drives, steers, pto is now engaging blades. Carried it back to owner, they said the started cutting and the deck belt started smoking and now only one blade turns. I'm thinking spindle assembly. Does anyone have a diagram of the 1862 deck assembly and belt Installation

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
