I recall a while ago that I lost a key and I guess I found a flat Indak. Sorry for any confusion.

I assumed the "stamped key" was the standard issue for all Cub Cadets. IH did use a notched Key IH-131313-C2 Key up until the Quietlines.

Roland you are certainly entitled to one little ooops. You are a wealth of knowledge.

The key that came with 125 I purchased actually looks like the one
in this thread but doesn't actually work. The one out of a 90,s something
or other MTD that I pretty much beat to death fits and starts the 125 just
fine. I am like you Roland, I have learned today. I'm just not sure what it is
I have learned.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
