Thanks guys for all the great advice! I rely on this wonderful site for its huge knowledge pool thank you all for sharing!
Yes, it was a great deal, best 4 bills I ever dropped! Also, the guy is a Bobcat mechanic here at the local dealer so he had already went through the injectors and it ran great, we drove it onto the trailer. I have to finish my 1864 that I picked up last fall and then this one is coming onto the shop to be thoroughly re-done. I'll keep you posted.

Glad you got it and cheap too! I just wish the guy would take his ad down. I was ready to either take a road trip or call my friend that lives over there.

Looks like another one is being saved. Great job Steve.
I do have a question. I looked at all my GT smokers and none of them have the slot in the frame like yours does back where the right side rear fender comes down to the floorboard. What is the build date on yours? I'm trying to figure out when they had those slots in the frame. TIA

Looks like you are having fun!!
That will be a nice tractor when you are done! I tried to get some info about that one last year but the guy would never email me back! I'm glad a Cub collector got it though... would have been a shame for it to go to scrap!! Keep us posted!!

882 Update
Things are moving slowly along. I've been collecting parts this summer. So far I have gotten a super steer axle and power steering system from an 1864, a CV style drive shaft and compatible hydro pump for the 882.
Finally finished the wire brushing and sandblasting on the frame this weekend. Got a coat of primer on it now. A couple of weeks of curing/gassing out and I'll lay down some Cub Yellow in preparation for some re-assembly.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
