Thanks. If it was repainted in the past, it was a very long time ago, and never cared for since, also they went to a lot of trouble to put the correct decals on.

I like seeing things painted all original.... but I make exceptions on custom builds. For example, changing a grill on an '82 series tractor to look like an 88 series IH tractor, then painting it in the same color scheme, with custom decals. Maybe changing an accent color, like on a lift handle changing it to black because the chrome is rusty. Or painting a S/G black even though they were yellow from the factory...... but for the most part I like it like it came from the factory.

Maybe, just maybe, the "nose and side covers" came off another tractor that sat outside... OR, your tractor sat outside, and the "nose and side covers" didn't. Anyone's guess.

I was thinking that along with painting the grille casting white, I would also use the 1st gen 1x4 and 1x5 decals (Entirely blue) or 1x6 and 1x7 decals (black with blue outline) and make the center part black to look like the Lo boy decals, or modify 149 decals to fit and make them say the type of tractor, like 124 or 127 to get that mini-lo boy look.

How about you just buy my 185 Lo-Boy and you can have that Lo-Boy look without all the work....
I might even truck it part of the way.

If you want to repaint the grille casting white, then you should think ahead. What color are you planning on painting the grille itself? It would have originally been white, too and to me, that would look stupid with a white grille casting and a white grille.
