Default My 147 Digger

Thanks for pic of the week and all the great comments! I found the digger attachment up in VT in a barn. It had been on a 147 when the owner removed it. The tractor belonged to a fencing outfit originally. I bought only the digger and assembled a 147 over a couple years finding NOS parts. Danuser made the digger in the early 70's, and late 60's. I spoke with Jerry Danuser the owner of the company and he helped with sending stickers and original blue print copies and books on it. I have used it and it actually works awesome. Hydraulic up and gravity down. The front weight box is part of the unit sold by danuser. I have since found another on a 147 and use that one, sold the one in the picture to a buddy who keeps it in his collection. I have two augers for the one I have now, my neighbors use it more than I do!Take care, Eric

Default Danuser CD-1 Digger

It has been to a few shows, it now sits in Maine in a garage with a mess of other restored Cub Cadets. The one I kept is pretty much original and unrestored so far. I go to the eliott maine show, Dubin, NH sometimes. There is a great "Tractor Day" mostly all cub cadets but others welcome in Salem NH usually in October. A good friend of mine puts it on. Thanks again for the nice comments. Eric

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
