So this weekend I had a chance to work on it.
It has a electric fuel pump on it and works. Head lights work, pto clicks when the ign.is in the run pos.,dash lights all work. There are a lot of electrical issues from the PO but I fixed all of them...I think. I had changed with known working parts, the pto switch, key switch, starter solenoid is new, seat switches were bypassed by the po,new pto relay, and also the left pedal switch, still no click at the starter solenoid, still will not turn over.I am sitting on the seat when I do this. I have the diagrams for wiring,so it started to rain today so I gave up for now. I guess I can jump the solenoid to see if it turns over but the gremlins are getting the best of me

Ok, gremlins are subdued, now I find out when I turn it over the engine moves, it is missing 2 of the bolts and spacers holding the engine on the mounting plate on the back, and 2 of the bolts up front are stripped out the front mounts requiring new bolts and stover nuts to get them tight,I did this with the engine still in the tractor.
Who knows how long it was like this, but the drive shaft is fine. This had a electric fuel pump on it,which was flooding the carb and the engine crankcase, just happen to notice gas filling up the elbow for the air filter on the carb I rebuilt when I turned the key on,too much pressure I guess,I removed it and went back with the vacuum type that was originally installed on it. Changed the oil when I first got it,changed it again after finding out it was overfilled with gas from the pump running, smells like oil now. Finally got it to run after all that and it runs great, charges, hour meter works so the hours are correct. There is no seat put back on it yet ,so no ride, but I know you want to know what it was why it would not start... The reverse switch was bad. Pics tomorrow.......

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
