Y'all are right about the front casting. I just looked again and it is different than my 125. My s/n is 197046.
Anyway, here is some pictures of how the stack was constructed. The baffle was a leftover motorcycle part from a friend. The 2" elbow and expander from autozone and the 1" pipe parts from hardware store. The baffle slips right into the 2" elbow which I shortened about an inch and then brazed the expander to the elbow. It is clamped onto the 1" pipe and will swivel if pushed. It doesn't stick up over the hood and won't be in any brush to bump it. The flapper is still questionable, not sure if I like it or not. It barely opens up with this little engine so I may take it off. |

Looks very good man. That short stack is sweet. I really think that ags and tri ribs should be mandatory on a 7 horse, great job!

Well I got a conversation piece then.
I did a lot of picture looking before I started this project and I honestly thought that the early 72s were built using a mash of old and new parts as available. It's all good. I am one of the non purists and like it the way it is and will continue to modify it as I like. It matches it's big brother this way to. Glad y'all like it. I've seen plenty of beautiful restorations on here and consider myself a novice, so your compliments are truly appreciated. |

Well, as promised, I did a little more work on this. I got around to adding the hydraulic lift pump and plumbed some extra tubing to have outlets on the back.
Please excuse the green trailer, but I play for both teams in this hobby. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
