That would be so easy if the Cub engineering department would of thought about a access but these are amazing tractors ,they have lasted and a lot of us have had a lot of fun and learned a lot as we went down this road.A great hobby

I have a 13 year old car that just had the alternator replaced.
I chose not to do it myself bcause I knew that the radiator, right front inner fender, belt tortioning unit, and a myriad of other crap had to be removed just to get to the alternator.
It took the mechanic 4 hours, and the first alternator he put in (new out of the box) was bad, so he had to do it twice. The second time only took him 3 hours.

Do you really think engineers give a rat's ass about easy access for things that they design???

They did eventually! The later series are MUCH easier to work on than the earlier narrow frames. To me, the zenith of Cub Cadets was the 82 series. Then they got more complicated electrically after that. The mediocre electrical system along with the plastic front ends killed it for me with the Cyclops.
