It seems that some of the discussions has already turned political. There are other forums for that. Cub Cadets has nothing to do with guns.

I agree Josh....unless the guns are mounted to a cub cadet, but that seems to be unnecessary.

.....maybe for the QL to sneak up on the prey.....naaaaahhhh. I think that having this on the forum would be like a t.v. set on wedding night--unnecessary. There is a proper place and time for everything and there are forums for that kind of enthusiast or sportsman, but I do not think this is it. Within a few post it seemed to already be heading political, but that decision is best left to the mods.

Did notice there is a hunting and fishing sticky. Wouldn't that cover the discussion the OP is asking about? If it is firearms specific discussion, I would agree that is for a GunsnStuff forum.

I agree that firearm discussions can and do get out of hand at times.... and yes this is a Cub Cadet forum.... but... alot of garden tractor owners are also country dwellers many of which will use firearms to keep the fox out of the hen house, the skunks out from under the grainary, and shooting gophers is just part of yard maintaince.

I grew up in a farming community, server 6 yrs militia, and I hunt, firearms trucks and tractors all go with the day to day activities for me... but I'll never get to know anyone here very well because I only own one "Cub Cadet"... an "O"... although I also own a LoBoy and a full size IH... theres not alot of threads here that I can take part in..so.. while this may be a very friendly forum with alot of good people... it sometimes doesnt offer much to encourage members to know each other very well... or encourage new members to join... just my opinion of course... but loosening the "Cub Cadets Only" theme may actually benefit the forum.

Any bow hunters here???

While the Mods are deliberating, I'll chime in apolitically.

Dusted off my Dillon Square deal and loaded about 1000 rounds of 9mm over the past couple of evenings. "About" 1000 because I didn't count all the primers I spilled on the shop floor in the process...tiny little buggers.

Having a hard time finding powder in the local shops, though, but primers and bullets and brass readily available.

Got a pile of .223 brass ready for the Rock Chucker.

Anybody else reload?

Oh, I had to clean Cub parts off the bench to set up the presses. (cub cadet content just in case).

I agree, not everybody wants to be on 6 different forums and those saying that a little gun chat on a cub forum doesnt belong need to explain to me the reasoning for the general discussion area. Theres a thread going right now about off road vehicles pics and theres about a million forums dedicated to that subject. The mods will do what they want and thats there right but to those who say guns dont belong on the cub forum id like to point out that neither does most of the discussion here thats not cub related.

How do you like your square deal? Ive been wanting to pick on up for my 45 acp but i keep spending the money on cubs.

I think a discussion about guns would not be political in nature and therefor would not violate the rules of the forum. I think a discussion about gun ownership would be political in nature and would therefor violate the rules. Thus, it is my personal opinion that those who own guns should be able to discuss said guns, and those who violate forum rules should be dealt with just like they are dealt with on any other topic. I don't believe anyone should have their ability to talk about things that are important to them taken away because of other people's intolerance to opposing views. And that goes both ways.

T'would be nice to discuss firearms in the hunting section. Good way to get to know each other a little more since we all seem to be country dwellers.

I have a Sako 85 Finnlight in 270WSM, love it. Browning A5 12 ga and a good ol Ruger 10-22. On order is a Tikka T3 in 243win, but the 270 is main gun for big Canadian elk and moose and bear.
