Thanks David. Long ways to go still. One crank bearing was missing the cage and the other has a rough spot so replacing both of those, list keeps getting longer, what was that you wrote about a hole in the shop floor and pouring in money?

I'd have the crank checked for cracks . once the cage breaks you don't have decent support all around the crank. have them check the radius on each side of the rod journal. that's where they usually crack

Scored a steel oil pan, the mounts must be swaybar bushings as "Tenneco" is printed on them. Pretty sure that Tenneco owns the MOOG name. They seem hard. Got 2 new USA made crank bearings.
Cradle mod today as it is rainy. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
