Great find on the O , especially since Cubs seem to be far and few between in your area.

Looks like IH wheel weights , not to hard to get but can be pricey.

Oil bath air cleaner , nice to have to make it Original looking. Take it apart , all the ones i seen are nasty inside.

Hopefully the AG tires are still good ??? That would be a plus !!

It has been my experience that the hitch is HTF and pricey when you do find one , i think they make O's look even better. Did you get the helper spring by any chance ??

Non trip blade are HTF also. If you ever use it , be careful !! You could end up doing the James Bond ejection seat thing !!!

All the other parts you need aren't hard to get if you decide to redo it , good luck !!!

Thanks guys

Yosemite Sam,
O riginals are a bit rare around these parts, although cubs are rare i belive in california!!Not much snow here!!, but plenty of sand.

Darrell,
The ags are ok,besides one being mounted backwards!!,They have great tread and are still flexible,BUT there is a crack in the sidewall of one,all four tires have tubes the flat one in the front blew up when we pushed it to the trailer!!
I dont belive it has the helper spring although honestly i havent investigated everything yet just the obvious!!

Wow Jason, great find.

You have a lot of goodies there..... non-trip blade, wheel weights, three point, oil bath air cleaner, and the pan seat looks good. The steering box and wheel should be no problem or the hood.

That was the battery box you have there. The battery just sits on those two flat spots on the pedestal and metal went around it.

Looks like a decent harrow too. Have fun with it, there is something about the OCC's that is just cool. I love how they sit and drive.

Now that's a good way to get compensated!
Ever thought about installing a 14 or 16 hp engine on that thing?
You could then call it THE BIG O.

Randy
I straightened out the bat. box this afternoon, thinking about welding it back on.I just want to get it going for now,Cant imagine why the P.O. tore it off besides maybe the welds poped.

I cant imagine why they tryed to paint it red ither...????...Looks like the took gallon and climed up on the roof of the house and threw it at it,its real runny!!!

I agree JCrews I love to barter for things, took me about an hour to put the sheetmetal in and seal it up,I offered him 100 for it and he accepted,he looked at my service van and asked what i did for the company,he had a job i can do for him for the tractor.I dont want to put a 16 horse in it but i dream of putting a 16 horse in my # 1 123.Did you see that 100 with the 14 horse chris w is selling its beautiful!!

Yosemite Sam
Your right its branded both david bradley and sears, the harrow, found the tag by the hitch

Darrell
I lied the ags are cracked all over, still flexible though,Its a shame they still have that ribbion/casting down the center

Question

Is the spindles "larger" on an original???

I tried to put a rim off my 70 onto the O to push it into the garage and it wouldn't go the bearings are smaller on the 70 rim.:biggrin2.gif:

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
