So finally after recovering from a back injury I am finally getting to put this thing back together. Got the engine and new drive shaft back in it. Now i have lost all of my hydraulics. No power steering and deck raise and it won't move at all. Any ideas? Does the pump need to be primed? If so how is this done?

Judging by the damage to the filter in your first pic, I'd say it's possible it has a hole in it. I'd replace the filter and see if that fixes it. You may have to move the hydro lever into either forward or backward and push the machine a little ways accordingly to get the pump primed. Just don't run into anything, or get someone to help.

I forgot to mention I did install a new filter and fluid. I'm going to give it another shot tomorrow and try to get it primed.

Alright. Then just fire it up and give it a little push while moving the hydro lever. It will pick up prime.
