The back plate is just a flat plate with 7 bolts in it and a plug in the middle.
I will try the magnet when I get home. I was trying to get a service manual on it but the service manual I got I think shows the aluminum rear end, so it looks like I will need to get the IH service manual. I didn't think this one was going to be this confusing. Here are better pictures.

As said before...........you have a CAST IRON rear end in your tractor.

Nice find. The guys are right, cast iron backside with aluminum axle housings. The cherry on top is the rear lift and brinly hitch.
