Thanks, guys, for all the great comments.
CCBob, to use the taller tires (27" tall) I lengthened the frame and moved the transaxle rearward 3-7/16 inches. And I used an 1863 (I think) front axle to get a couple inches lift to level it out. I moved the axle forward several inches also.I did not change gearing. Of course the taller tires do gear it up somewhat, But I figure I am just getting the equivalent of losing first gear which I never used anyway. I am using an old 100 transaxle with the slow second gear and I always thought that slow second gear was too slow anyway. So, I believe I will be alright. Granted, I will have a faster reverse and a faster "road gear".

Okay, So I didn't like the paint scheme, too much white. So, I made some changes. Here are some pics of what I have now. It is almost done. I need to get some "correct" (maybe tri-ribs)front tires, and get an exhaust stack installed.

I want to use 4.00-4.80 x 8 tri ribs on the front, but I can't seem to find any narrow front rims to fit the 1" spindles. Any ideas?

You could narrow a set of wide wheels.

I made some hubs for the 1" bearings and used 4 bolt trailer wheels to put narrow tri ribs on my super . I think I used 2" scedule 80 pipe for the bearing area and round stock faced and board for the flat part , then some GM press in studs for the lug studs . If you can build a tractor that looks as good as your 106 and 100 you can figure it out . Oh yeh it proubly would be easyer if you was a forman in a machine shop .

Do you have a build thread for this beauty? I'd love to see how and where you made those alterations to the frame. I'm really liking this build and can't decide if the white or red color scheme is my fav

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
