I think we need to go back to basics being you said you are a new person I have to ask. You say it looses power then stops are you actually talking about the engine or is the hydro slowing down and stopping?

Just to let you know. It was the carb. I took it off and cleaned it and it seems to run stronger. Now the funny part is when going up a hill it would still stall out and eventually die. Sometimes its the simplest things- low fuel.
Thanks for all the suggestions. |

Good question. Neither on both. How do you decarbonize? Seafoam?

The best way to decarbonize a Kohler engine is to remove the head. A Kohler service manual has the instructions on how to dicarbon an engine.

I use plow days and pulling a 6-13 car barrel train for testing different things( mainly fuel). I will take 2 fuel cans-one with gas straight from the pump and the other container is my experimental gas to an event. I tried sea foam 2 times at a plow day. both times my 149 was down on power and my 100 would run out of power. Both tractors ran great once the seam gas was dump and pump gas was added to gas tank.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
