Great find! I'm glad you landed it. If he repainted it, then you know he cared about it, unless it is painted some wacky color. It has a lot of the nice goodies on it, too, like lights, lift, front blade, and assist! High back seat is also a lot more comfortable. It runs so it LIVES ON!!! Congratulations on your newest acquisition.

Thanks. At first I thought it was repainted, but after a closer look, I think it is original. The goodies surprised me. I knew it had the lights, deck, and blade. I didn’t expect it to have a rear lift or spring assist, and though not factory, it also has a horn and cigarette lighter. The seat is comfortable, but I prefer the looks of the original ones.

Nice acquisition, I see it has headlights from a 1x6 1x7 model. That is one of my favorite models, I have 2 here and one was painted with a brush, looks good at 5 feet, at least he did not have to paint the hood...

I would like to get the correct headlights eventually, but these ones are fine for now. My favorite was always the 1x6/1x7 models, but this one may change that. Your 125 sounds like my 149 when I got it.

I put it to work pushing gravel back onto the driveway. It runs great, the spring assist is nice. It may end up being my favorite.

I forgot to mention before, he also gave me a sign.

Nice find. I have to stop picking up basket cases so I can enjoy playing instead of assembling.

I enjoy spreading gravel with my 127. It amazes the hauler that I can get the first load spread before he returns with the second.

Thanks. It is amazing what these little tractors can do. When my dad was putting in our driveway, he had a 127 with a blade and a T-9 dozer. He did most of the work with the Cub. I maintain about half of our almost mile long dirt road with my Cubs.

In case anyone is interested, I got the mower running tonight. I cleaned the carb and put in fresh gas, and it started on the first pull. It runs good and everything works except 5th gear.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
