Thank you Sam Mac. I appreciate that change. Wasn't necessary to put my username there--I wasn't seeking anything from it. After all, it was never a question of who is right, but rather a question of what is right. Hopefully, the serial number matches up for it to be a true '61 and a member can land it.

No, just add the information. We already said that we try to keep "pertinent" information within the body of the thread. It's the "wish I was closer", or "would you hold it for a week" or "I saw one of those for sale the other day, this guy is way too high" that is not allowed. I really think that the info that was deleted in recent, was more out of carelessness than contempt. We try our best to be as fair as we can. It's really very simple. Just follow the rules.

As a note, if you want info on the said for sale item, don't ask about it in the thread. So in other words, if you have questions concerning purchase, "holding" the item, "offers"...... ETC. Don't post it withing the thread. This is why we require a "means of communication". If you get no response...... well, then we understand when there is a post saying such. A simple "PM SENT" is fine.

A post was recently made in the eBay/cl section for some tire chains that are still in the burlap sack, I posted stating that the chains were probably for 6-12 size tires since neither the original poster nor the add itself stated it and was just wondering why my post was deleted?

I understand all of this, and agree with 99% of it with one exception. If a seller, for example is selling a brinly plow and you're not sure it'll fit your specific machine, if I'm understanding correctly, it is not ok to ask within that For Sale ad if it will fit a certain machine? The info is pertinent to the post, relevant to other users, and not really "chit chat". Just curious, not trying to start or egg on anything
