From the last post up! lol. SOrry I had no idea I could create a place for voting.

I would not be doing this for resale. This would be a really in depth father son. He says "for the time being" He wants to one day be in and eventually take over my business. Before he ever really steps foot in the business "too dangerous of an environment for him at his age" I want to see his aptitude, desire, and patience for this kind of work.Saying all that he will go to college before I ever even consider letting him work full time in my business. Even after college he would need to earn his position. No spoon fed bratty owners sons allowed !! lol.. So with that all said. Im not worried about ease of working on so much. It would be a complete 100% nut and bolt zero time refurbishment. He and I both tend to agree with the masses on this if I am seeing right looks like the 149 got more "votes". Also yes. It comes with a deck and some wheel weights.

I have considered buying both just to add some variety to the small 3 cub collection I already have. Looking at the 147... It looks pretty nice as is. That one I would like to work a bit so maybe better not to make it look like new.

Thanks for all the valuable input. I am really leaning towards 149 for full resto. Ill be thinking about buying both.. sorta was already honestly.

Wonder if the wife will mind parking her Lincoln in the driveway.. Running out of space in other work places at the house!

Both is best. Might as well get started on a building to house the cubs.

Otay (more incorrect grammar!), to appease the wifey, how about a pink or as my Uncle Lewy might say, "Pank", cub cadet restoration like the ones found in this older thread?

You might be on to something.. She hates pink, but she loves the bling. Would need a lot of chrome and or polished stainless.. Cell phone holder and usb ports and a blue tooth connection to radio would be a must for her also.

Instead of building some new space maybe its time to get rid of some of my other toys lol.. Im almost finished with my 55 Ford F100. That will free up some space.

I'd buy the 147. I prefer narrow frames and the looks of the 147 vs. the 149. iMO the 149 is one of the worst IH designs there is, but that's just me. The only way the 149 gets a pass is if it's painted up like a 1066.

Not at all. They actually look great that way and some members here have done them that way. Some of the design and paint ideas are awesome and that’s one of them.

I vote for the 149. I like the ease of working on the wide frame tractors, and the hydraulic lift is great.

Oh, and the red 1066 look-a-like has been done.

Are you on drugs? Everything in your statement points to a serious drug addiction.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
