But about your 982... it looks like a very good find. Im sure what you paid for it would almost buy a dirty used paper plate... am I close?

Johnathan yes the 26x12x12 ag tires are still made. They are a little pricy though brand new. So are tubes if you would ever need them. Ask me how I know.

Maybe I can find a 73 for what you paid for that

I'll hold you to dinner, and a beer, when I'm there next week.
No, I don't believe I did mention it was IH built. BUT IT IS!

Can't wait till your here! And the other guys.... I guess I miss them too, lol!

I imagine it's salvageable. I haven't done anything to it yet.... don't even know if it's locked up or not. Did pull the dipstick. Has oil and it looks good. No water in it. I'll pull it, clean it up, drain it, maybe even pull it apart a bit and have a look-see. I've seen guys condemn engines for the junk for burning oil, but they only had bad head gaskets. This one looks like it may have been leaking pretty good. I bet it runs. If it does and isn't a mosquito fogger, it will stay.

I know they still make 26x12x12's. I want new Goodyear Terra Tires. I checked.... they don't make them. I can get them in Nanco and Deestone. They're cheap. Pair for less than $200. Friend and I that farm with have been testing our theories on rear Ags for the GT's. We found in our area that the narrower and tighter the bars the better they do. Can't wait to see how these perform. We've only been comparing tires we have. (We've got a few different sets of rear ag's.)

Tubes are $20 or less. Where you buying your stuff.....??

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
