Home made bedder attachment

I wanted to build that tool bar for a few reasons including the hiller/bedder. I'm considering buying some S-tines and Danish sweeps to have slide on parts for a cultivator but my only source is about as expensive as buying a used Brinly.

I like this one better than mine, I was going to redesign mine to be able to work with my sleeve hitch on hte cub I may get to work on it over the next couple of days. I cna see the bar being used for other things as well like dragging fence wire to level out ground. Thanks for the idea..

Has anyone used their bedder with the discs turned out? I'm thinking of making my rows wider this year to allow me to cultivate with my tractor and by hilling to the outside, I can still used raised beds.

That wont work, the discs will not turn they really just cut ruts in the dirt, or at least thats all I was able to get it to do. . To make the beds wider you have to push the discs further out, also rotate the angle of the discs that will make the beds wider.

2" Is the main tube size, I used an old receiver hitch to slide over the 2" then the tube for the disc rods is 1 1/4 if memory serves me correct. My discs are 10"

I've been thinking about this update for a while and how to make it work. I finally pulled the proverbial trigger today and went for it. Now my bedder will cut in the seed bed while building the beds. I have to say it works pretty well, I only wish it was a tad further back. It's hard to see in the picture but there's a very nice v-groove all the way down the middle. I imagine if my garden had been tilled to a very fine mix it would be very smooth and you could see it better. The only thing I have left is to make a brinley adaptor for it and paint it up.

Thanks guys, I just need to make a sleeve hitch adaptor. I like this design because I have room to add weight if I need it.
