What are you trying to make it run on for gas? You really need to buy better stuff for it to run on. Looks nasty.

I swear I've only used 93 octane gas with sta-bil added fresh from the pump. I'm baffled , I rebuilt the carb about 4 months ago, I don't know how it's possible for so much crud to build up in 4 months. Maybe I need to buy gas elsewhere.

First off, stop using 93. Use 89. That gunk is water in the fuel. Try buying gas somewhere else. Does this thing ever sit outside? Where do you store your fuel? I think Sta-bil is a waste of money. Never use it. I don't have any fuel/carb problems either. ( No problems as in, maybe once every two or three years I have to take a carb apart and clean it.)

The tractors sit in the garage, the car sits outside . I store the fuel in the garage as well.I'm definitely buying gas elsewhere from now on, I spotted a gasoline station that sells ethanol free gas, I'll try that.

I run ethanol blended fuel, but it does tend to attract moisture. Try the regular gas and see if that helps. Clean that thing up and hopefully that will take care of the over-fueling.

My cubs sit inside, cars sit out too. LOL

That's nasty. I've never seen build up like that in 4 months. How do your fuel filters look, did you ever clean the tank out?

It doesn't have a fuel filter and I've never cleaned the tank. What's the best way to clean the tank?

Well.... yeah... LOL.

If gas won't cut it, mineral spirits or laquer thinner should. Taking the tank off and sloshing gas in it usually will clean it up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
