I can do some of the maintenance & don’t mind. Some work I will have to pay someone to do due to disabilities. I had some welding done to the deck & right now, the spindles are what is keeping it from cutting grass. I have another thread on that.

Have you considered an electric mower? Cub Cadet makes an electric xt1 and a electric version of the cc30. Ryobi makes an electric ride on mower and zero turn. Before I bought my 3000 series tractors I considered the Ryobi ride on. I really wanted to use for snow removal and that does not have a snow blower. No changing oil, no gasoline to haul. Just plug it in.
If you can repair your current lawn tractor mostly your self, that will probably be the cheapest. If you need to pay a shop to get it repaired, then buying a different one and selling what you have may be a better deal. I personally would really consider an electric tractor, but it needs a good snow blower. And those are not available yet. https://www.cubcadet.com/en_US/ridin...-riding-mowers https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-38...8111/300422546

Yes, I have considered an electric riding mower. The reviews I have seen do not look good for the CC models, though. Ryobi has pretty good reviews, but they use lead acid batteries. I think the technology is not quite there yet for electric mowers. I live in Florida, so I won't need a snow plow ! LOL

Update:
I put new bearings in one spindle, made a couple of other repairs, & put it back together. I still need a spindle assembly for the other ( discharge side) but couldn’t find one. The bearings are noisy, but I cannot get the shaft out, due to it being slightly bent. I have cut grass with its few times, & it is much better. I will use it like it is until I run across the other spindle with shaft. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
