I wanted a wider door to get my trailer thru without the risk of hitting the doorway. My trailer measures 103” outside the tires. A 10’ door would have been about 116”-118” between the seals. A little too close for comfort to me.

Nice storage area, any heat going in it?

Thanks guys.

No plans for heat or insulation but I did order insulated doors just in case. My other shop is fully insulated and heated. The new barn is for storage. The porch was the wife’s idea because we’ve been talking about adding a patio in the back yard. Our plan is to add a patio attached to the porch with a fire pit.

Concrete and doors are done. Now, I need to get a couple loads of dirt hauled in so I can fill in around the barn to actually get in the doors. There’s about a 2’ drop from the 12’ door to the ground.

That looks great! Love the idea of one wider door and one smaller.

Nothing like the smell of fresh concrete in the morning!
I would go with with 3/4 stone and then Quarry Process.

So, last fall, I finished grading around the barn and sowed grass around it.

When I had it built, I planned to use an off-grid solar setup for lighting. Today, I started on the layout of the breaker box and charge controller. I’m using a Square D QO series box and breakers as they are actually rated for DC voltage up to 48 volts. The solar panels and charger are from Renogy. It’s their 200W premium package that includes cables, fuses, and a Bluetooth module for reading and adjusting the charger. I’ll be using a deep cycle marine battery for storage.
For light wiring, I’m using standard boxes, porcelain bulb bases, and 14-2 Romex wire. Inside will be 6 15W 12V LED bulbs. I found several options on Amazon that screw into standard bulb sockets. Outside will be a porch light by the man door and a flood light above the garage doors.

Looks great. I’m in the process of thinking about building something. Did you do it yourself or was it a kit?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
