Made in Canada, that explains why it looks weird.

Hey at least its not Plastic
I havent tried to turn it over yet, want to do oil change and check a few things over first, pull the engine and check for crap around the flywheel, pretty sure I will have a new top cover for it. Havent tried to turn the deck either but everything looks intact. The PO has a small lot and bought a little RER about 3 years ago so parked this LTS125 supposedly all in working condition. I dont want to screw anything up by turning things that may be rusted stuck. Ive noticed a couple repairs required on the bagger but tractor itself and the deck look real promising. I like it but I cant keep them all so hopefully I'll make a few $$ and someone else will get a nice little Cub Cadet out of the deal.

Lol, ya I bet there isnt many south of the border, but possibly a box store model up here. Which is fine by me, they sell fast once I get them in 'ready to run' condition and usually for a pretty good buck

I did a tear down today, replaced the starter, the variable speed pulley was rusted tight so I had to clean that up... but it now run drives and cuts grass. Bit over complicated system but it works well enough, still needs a new battery and some detail cleanup but I should have it 'Ready to Run' and up for sale by next weekend

Got 4-5 hours mowing with it over the weekend, all seems to be running and working well, forward drive belt jumped off once but that belt is in rough shape so I'll replace it and hopefully it wont do that again. Runs nice tho, easy on fuel and a decent cut. Found a crack in the hood I need to weld up so I dont have it back on yet.

Great find on an oddball. My question is how odd is it in Canada, are they a dime a dozen or scarce as hens teeth? The fender mounted shifter reminds me of a similar sized mower in the late 80's, I think they were 1315 and 1320 (hydro and gear drive--also used 12.5 hp Kohlers I think). I think there was a 1015 with the shifter mounted there as well. Personally I think you should keep it, looks like an evolution of your 382. Thanks for posting this one!

I would never keep a machine like this for myself, first off its not big enough to mow 3 acres, and my yard is not very smooth so those little wheels ride like crap. The variable speed pulley system is way over complicated and a complete pita to replace belts on, Ive tested, and sold, probably close to 100 differant riding mowers in the last 5-6 years.... this one might not even make the top 50..... its not terrible, its just not real impressive, probably built as a cheap box store model to compete with other low end equip of the day, whether or not its UGLY is a matter of opinion, I see all steel bodywork and I like that, fiberglass and plastic do not belong on Tractors.... just look at my ugly LoBoys with no fricken grills.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
