Well I know. When we tried to start our 71 yesterday, the negative battery cable sparked anytime it touched the post, even with the key in the off position, and not in the switch. Today, when I rechecked everything, I got nothing after grounding our pink wire. Not even a click from the solenoid, and nothing when bypassing the safety switch. It did turn when I jumped the ground on the solenoid to the positive post on the battery. Yet earlier last summer, the solenoid would click but today we got nothing.

Sounds like you have some bad wiring. Do you have a meter and know how to trace down a circuit ??

Let's start here. Make sure, that BOTH battery cables, are clean, bright, and tight, on each end of the the cables, to ensure good contact.

So update it now properly turns over and starts issue is when you order the voltage regulator that you can get from tractor supply wiring it is a little different everything goes in the same spot except the blue wire running from the s/g instead of running it to the side it goes to the back post of the regulator and the now unused side terminal is for the lights and or push button start for 70x100 from what i read from the helpful advice from one of the ******** groups
