I believe that was the case in most of the ones that currently don't have the electric lifts. They have a reputation of being troublesome, so I think a lot of 147s got converted over to manual lifts or hydraulic lifts.

Nice job. It looks great. The chrome steering wheel is a nice touch.

I don't know.....if you keep both of them, then keep them separated because I remember having two and then the family kept growing. You know how they are when they get together......they breed like rabbits!!!!
You did a really AWESOME JOB!!! Have fun making the neighbors jealous!! Cub Cadet 123 |

after thinking about it is the baffle short because of the muffler shield, that goes on, if so why is ther a short one on my 72, the muffler goes out the side, must be something the po did.

short sheild
That is the top of the fan shroud. the rest of the sheild is the top/ muffler sheild/muffler support. As the air is sucked up through the screened opening at the drive shaft area, the sheilding guides it over the head for proper cooling. There are actually three pieces to the top and a side cover on the generator side of engine. This is the before picture. As for your tractor, just keep adding paint, I have a daughter that hung around too long and looks just "FAB-U LUSSSS!" in Cub yellow and cream. LOL.

Trailer?
Yosemite Sam says I need a trailer so the wife can pull it around behind one of the cub's. I got one, some of you may remember this shot from last year. Thats me in the hat, I if I was the dog and could be typing this, the big dummy driving could affors to be paying somebody ELSE to cut his grass. Come to think about it....if the dog could talk, I wouldn't really need a wife,,,,JUST KIDDING! OW,,,OW..OW... Dang, she can read. Heres a couple shots of the 122 from about an hour ago, broke a belt on the deck and figured while it's off may as well give her a good soaking and a scrubbing.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
