Here's some links on composting. I still need to do some reading myself on this. I got these links from my electric co-op newsletter over the weekend.

I have saw some small plastic drums that roll on a stand for sale at tractor supply, they are way to expensive and too small for the amount of material I need.
With That being said, I have given some thought to making one.
If I took a 55 gallon barrel, some sort of rollers or casters, and I made a 2X4 stand I would be ready to go. That way I could use the hot method and It would be alot quicker.
But there again its more work and money. What do you think?

I took a class on composting yard waste, and learned that you use 7in of leaves, 3 inches of grass clippings and 1in of black dirt. I started out using 3 pallets as a place to put the pile. Turning it weekly helped in the composting action, and produced some very nice compost after awhile. Not turning it got it to smelling real bad. Now I have a spot about 6x50 that I throw all my grass clippings in and using the compost that's already in it as the black dirt, and mix it up with the cub tiller every week, it makes some nice stuff.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
