Sam - 10-4, with the newer machine ill have the time to rebuild the older one. And hopefully more older ones as i can find them haha.

Shotgun - Beautiful Setup!! looks really good! Im pretty OCD about my maintinace on my equipment/cars/yard/house etc. My wife had never seen anyone wash a lawn mower before i brought the snapper home a few years ago haha. At least once a year my mowers get all the fluids changed, deck belts replaced if needed, tune ups, and blades replaced if needed or sharpened, grease points greased. More often if hrs requirements are met. After each use i try to clean out all the clippings or debris from the decks or where ever anything might get caught up and rest. So im sure this thing will in the family for a long time providing the matierial integrity will last.

where did you run the hitch power off of (does it have its own switch?) or does it raise and lower with the deck?

Thanks again Guys gunna go place my order Saturday morning,

Matt

Thumbs up Nice tractor

That is one really nice looking tractor. My old shaft drive series 2000 2166 w/42" deck & 16 hp Kohler has started its 13th season and although its still cutting the grass I am really wanting a new XT3 GS standard model that has manual steering and deck lift like my old one. Please keep us updated on the quality and performance of your new tractor. Thanks, RP

Hi Again,

For the hitch, the package from Johnny Products contains the double pole switch to the up and down action of the hitch, you just have to locate a good spot for the switch and install it. Here is my install on the right side of the dash.

From the pic, the black switch is the supplied switch from Johnny Products, the green one is for headlights that I installed (the headlights were always on...which is dumb), the orange one is for AUX power to rear for my sprayer, the red on is for the rear light and/or a 2nd AUX power to rear for my sprayer agitator when using Sevin pesticide which is a powder emulsion and settles if not constantly stirred.

Oh, and I installed the voltmeter also to keep an eye on charging since so much replies on battery power. This Kohler engine has a 25 Amp charging system which is beefed up to handle the electrics compared to some other engines/tractors.

Nice machines, I just purchased a xt3 gse yesterday, traded in my ltx1046 1 day in love it, what a difference driving compared to the smaller one I had, only issue I have which I will be calling dealer on tomorrow is the manufacturer date of 10/14 only reason I even looked was because the seat and hood seemed a bit weathered for a machine that only had .3 hours on it when I got it.

I ordered my GSX yesterday morning. Whoo hoo! And cingrats BMWpower641! Im glad you like it. I wonder how long it was sitting outside before they brought it in or you bought it? If its a manufactured date of 10/14... it was an early 15 model... sounds like it was sitting outside for a while. ... apparently they arnt making the GSX anymore for '16... ill have to wait till jan.... my dealer found one he said he would go get for me but im worried about that same issue... how long has it been outside...

Sidewinder,

I hope you like your new tractor. I'm like Shotgun Wedding in that I have a newer Cub--GT 2000--and I think it is amazing. The longer I have it the more I appreciate it. I have the fabricated 48" deck, inside mounted wheel weights, ag back tires, and v61 front tires on it. This tractor is so much better than the 1863 I owned which was pre 1996. That Cub had paint peeling off of it, leak like a sive, ran too hot, and the plastic panels were a mess. Older Cubs are great, but they need fixing a lot more due to their age, and some--I'm one--cannot work on them sufficiently. I keep my Cub in a heated garage, wash and wax it at the end of every the cutting season. Some of my family members think I'm crazy, but I love the way it still looks new. Good luck with your new tractor.

Thanks Allen. By the way, I like your new tractor. I really liked the 982 as well; I was surprised you sold it. Your new one needs some v61 tires now. The best front tires around.

CAO65 - Thanks! your machine does look brand new! Never waxed a lawn mower, just washed them.... gunna start now haha. Im really glad i made the decision now after reviews like yours, oaks, and shotgun weddings of the newer machines. Just hope i dont have to wait until the begining of the year to get it!

Shotgun Wedding - I really like that dash set up, when i get my tractor, and i get my hitch, im probably going to mount my switches up similarly. Very clean Sir!

When i do get it in ill post some pics etc. I like the look of the ags on the newer machines too!

Matt

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
