We'll I couldn't pass up the deal on the maxxis tires. Good thing too, the guy I bought them from ( yet another crazy cub collector) said he has a power angle plow he is willing to part with, for a price to be named later. I told him let me know.
Now the tires, he said they are not that great of traction. I instantly thought about the center of the tires where the bars come together. I'm thinking about grooving the centers out about where my finger is. Thoughts?

I think if you fluid fill them, they'll have plenty of traction as is.

Thanks for the comments guys. I will try them out before I groove them, might not have to cut em. I'm not to sure about putting them on my 1512. But they will find a home on one of my tractors. Possibly my 1641, or my yard pro with the Roper hi low trans. I have not decided what to do with them yet.
I agree with loading them though. This is a tru power tire pic I got off of eBay. I see some distinct differences.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
