Dug out a couple of dust collector Kohlers this week so I can see if they are worth anything/ able to get running, both had BBQ'd points. These were engines that I picked up along the way at yard sales and such. New points and condenser and they are both running now, unfortunately they are both wide base 1-1/8 dia cranks not narrow base 1" crank.... But that gives you something to look towards.
and on my 129 that I have had sitting in the corner for 3-4 years... points were brand new when I pushed it aside with a whole 15 mins run time on them 3-4 years ago.... went to fire it up and no spark/ points looked like the new points they are still but I had to take a couple of swipes thru them with a piece of emery today, then it started right up again.
