When i said that it shakes the tractor its just when you turn on the deck. it runs too smooth to be running on one cyl. so im leaning to the gov. ill hopfully get a look at it tonight.

If it's shaking only when you turn on the deck have you considered that just maybe you have a problem with the deck? Remove the belt from the PTO and find out if the deck spindles turn freely.

Do you have spark at both cylinders???
How about compression....

2 easy checks that take about 3 minutes....Will tell alot of info....

I had a 1863 do something similar. It had small stick in drive pulley at the top where the drive belt runs. It shook the whole tractor.

This may be a long shot but have you looked under the deck to see if it has a bunch of buildup? I have seen mowers that acted like they were down on power all because of a bunch of grass buildup from mowing wet grass.

Deck is belt drive. Standard 2000 series style.

Have you pulled the checked for fire on each cylinder?
