drive shaft looks a lot like a snow thrower unit?
Good work on the modeling. Your system is high end. Will be watching. Like Matt said, I took a look at several builds too. (my 4x4 project has been set aside) I really like the idea that the seat would stay aligned/attached with the front of the unit and let the back portion move/rotate under the seat area. I know this may not be easy to do??? Regards, Chris

It is a drive shaft for a Cub Cadet snow blower. The openings in the ends of the U joints is 3/4" & the hydro pump input is 5/8. I found spacer sleeves on eBay to adapt from the two sizes.
I need to drill a hole through it for the roll pin/bolt yet. I'm going to connect the seat to the front half & so it is not pivoting between the seat & steering wheel. As I mentioned in another post, the articulating Cab of Glen Peterson is my inspiration. I have traded emails with him about his design. His has a Yanmar diesel engine. I'm still looking for a motor. Your design is similar to that of a versatile except it uses two rods across the top.

Isn't that 4882 cool. It belongs to Glen Peterson, he is in Wisconsin somewhere.

You will need a U-Joint for the drive shaft to the rear axle in line with the pivot point.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
