It rained pretty much all day yesterday but I got a lot done on the 782. Oil change, cleaned up the plugs, adjusted what I could, a power wash and basically taking stock of what needs to be done.

The steering needs a rebuild. The front axle is wobbly and had been repaired before. Transmission needs adjustment. Needs new seat, I threw a better one on that I had sitting around. Other than that... need a new filter and Hytran.

All things considered it works very well. Engine seems to be in great shape, no smoke, responsive and still has tons of power. I even started mowing with it for a couple hours yesterday, then got a friend to do some so I could get some action pictures. It mows really well, the deck was taken care of by the PO.

Someone put a NASCAR sticker over the IH sticker

Here is the 782 at work, there was thick grass to cut but didn't present a problem:

Not going easy on it lots of work!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
