I drew up a plan of the flat square style and showed them to my foreman at work. He asked if it was a home job. I replied sure is. He then told me that they'll write up a program and laser cut some out of some .250" steel plate laying around the shop....at no cost to me. Can't wait!!

I'm wishing now that I hadn't given away my weight set the last time I moved. Had over 500# of steel weights with 1" centers. Those weights cost about $1/lb, if you buy them at a sporting goods store, so with 100# per tire, you're looking at $200 plus the cost of making the mounts. Makes $135 for a pair of 75# IH Cub wheel weights look pretty good...unless you have 500# of weights you haven't given away yet!

update: seemed that the programmer never had time to write a program for them and we never "really had time to fit them into the schedule". Therefore I never had them made. Real slim chance to have them made now seeing as I got laid off today!!!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
