Here is a poor picture of a 3 point that my friend made for me. I gave him the dimensions and he made it. I think 1 3/4 square tubing with sguare plugs welded on the ends with the 1/2 or 5/8 rod drilled then he made the lift arm. Works great as the orignal one. I just don't use it because of the weight box on the back.

This is what I done.2 in. square tubing notched and welded together and pressed pipe in the tubing
with my press(a 12 pound slegde).

Seems like you have this well thought out...self locking nuts, good solid steel, bearings for pivots, etc. What are your thoughts on the bottom plate? Do you think you will go with a double plate? You obviously can fabricate and weld...will you put ears back to the axle? I've been contemplating doing my own as well...your work has encouraged me to move forward.
