yes I've read it..
I've got a mule drive for my 44A deck. I was hoping to be able to visually identify what the one for a tiller looked like. You mentioned in your writeup that it's different b/c the mower deck has an offset input. My CC is 605,XXX serial number.

That would be correct. You will notice that the arms for the mule drive pulleys should be angled slightly back to the left (as you set on the tractor) to allow the belt to align properly with the deck drive pulley.
The pulley arms for the tiller will be perfectly straight back and forth to allow the belt to go straight back to the gear drive pulley. That is what you will need to look for in the correct mule drive. The owner's manual shows how the mule drive pulley's need to be set up with two adjustment rods and no springs. Hope this clears things up a bit.

I found a #1 with the 90deg drive that bolts to the back. and a front wide mule
will this fit my 582 ? sorry for the highjack.

A 129 if I remember right. he did say narrow frame. so I know the front piece wont work. ( his it bolt on ) mine is quick connect.
and I just was told by the cub dealer that it will fit as long as my 582 has the cast steel housing. wont fit the aluminum ones . maybe thats what the 2B tiller is for? also the front mule, could I take a deck mule and cut off the section that run under it for the deck and just use the front section to run the tiller. or find whats correct?

Let's see a picture of the back of your 582. If you have the aluminum rear there isn't any tiller that will work except for one that has the motor mounted to the tiller frame and you can pull it with the rear draw bar you use to pull trailers with.
