The rod the pulleys slide onto appears to be arched. Is that normal, or should it be straight? (3rd row up from bottom, right side).
Those rods should be straight not bowed. You can make a new one out of 1/2" cold rolled rod from the hardware store. I replace all those on the mule drives when I go thru them.

Looks like the belt is twisted on the mule drives and the deck pulley. I get them on the pto and mule drive then pull to the rear and get the twist out when I put mine on.

I have repaired the pin and replaced the arm on the right mule drive pulley. Ran out of daylight and too tired to run a drop light. I'll be sure to take out any twists when I put the belt back on.

CD , Looked your pics over some more and i am talking about the brace in the back of the frame , my belts go under that brace. Looks like yours is on top of the brace.
I'll check the belt again, but I didn't see any interference or touching of any components.

Finally got to mow yesterday. 42 does a much better job than the 50 on my yard. Straighten everything and installed an 82" belt to get proper 3 1/2" adjustment. Still have a few ridges after mowing, mainly due to ground contor. Gonna remove the runners an install the wheels. Is there a deck with 4 wheels than will fit my 1450?
Oh, Incredible Hulk did a number on me. Grandson left one, (he has about a dozen), in the yard. Didn't see it when I walked the yard. Hit it and it caused the mule drive belt to come off.

The 44" and 50" decks both had a front wheel kit available.
