Congrats on your 149! It's sweet!
The wrong fluid will can stop it the hydro from working. Change the filter as well. Soak those manual valves in PB blaster and they should pop right back up ifthey keep sticking. |

There is one speaker behind the fuel tank. I can't imagine that you could hear anything with the engine running. I don't know if it works or not. I won't really have time to mess with it for a week or so.

I have always been pretty happy with my 125. It wasn't until I hooked up my brother in law with a 108 from Lew that I saw just how nice the wide frame machines are, and how much easier it is to work on one. I told my wife how much nicer the newer machines are and she said that I should get one so she would be more comfortable using it. I think she had a different idea of new than I did, but I think she'll like the 149. I saw this on Craig's List at a good price and I figured I'd see what I can do with it. Hopefully I can get it working without much money or trouble. I told me wife that I would sell the 125 after I get this one in good shape. We'll see how that goes.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
