I have a factory manual using the mower frame as a bracket and used wheel weights as the weight. www.ccmanuals.info/pdf/ that is the website site i got it from. I know that you don't have a welder but if you have a sawall and a drill you can made the braces for it.

Thanks gitrdone Im looking at your link.
Here was what I was thinking. If I bend the mule drive where the red lines are and then weld it and brace with a piece of metal I can then mount it upside on the front of the tractor. I was thinking about drilling holes and bolting it on to the front of the frame. Of course there is some tweaking that would have to be done and I would be limited to only a couple of weights due to the size of the drive. See picture below ![]()

Two or three 42lbs suitcase weights would do you good for this project!
![]() If you can i would cut and add steel to the arms on the bracket to move it forward enough to clear the frame. That way you wont have to bend it and it will still use the QA on the frame. The studs that lock into the QA will need to be cut and moved back to lock in position. All in all you can have this modified in no time and still have the full function you wanted too! ![]() ![]()

Not that these are really suitcase weights, but I didn't feel like starting a new thread when this one covers the same points basically. I made this bracket to fit on the back of my 102 to add weight for plowing snow. The weights are 28 lbs. each and came from an old silo unloader that we were scrapping. I then made the bracket out of scrap steel laying around the farm to attach them to the rear of the tractor by utilizing 6 of the 7 holes that hold the rear cover on. There is also a hole cut out for the oil check/fill plug. with all three weights and the bracket I was able to add about 100 lbs. A piece of wood can be put in as a spacer against the two bolts that hold the weights in to use only two or one of the weights. If a need arrives (as in I acquire a plow) I might make a bracket to put these weights on the front of one of my cubs. Also the cub shown in the pics is just another 102 (not running at the moment) that I used to take measurements for the bracket. It will be put on my 102 up at school for plowing snow if we ever get any.

Thanks for the reply's guys those are some great ideas. I finally got a chance to brainstorm on my idea and I've posted a pic of the mule drive stuck on the 108. I think its gonna be to high the way its is so I'm going to rethink the positioning and consider cutting the mule drive down.

Doug here's what I came up with. I made it modular so I could possibly add a grille guard-bumper-suitcase bracket or what ever. If you don't want to use slab weights like I did, you could just use suitcase weights or hang anything on it. Good Luck
DSCF1105.jpg Just slides onto the mule bolts and slide in 5/8" rod DSCF1106.jpg Bolts can be as long as needed or no bolts at all DSCF1107.jpg These slab weights are old 75 pound IH frame weights DSCF1102.jpg I've got the rear taken care of with 9 gallons of fluid in each plus the wheel weights The wheels, tires and fluid weigh just over 90 pounds By the way the Briggs repower came out great. SMOOOOOTH DSCF1099.jpg I've been working on the 149 now, getting it ready to sell or trade. DSCF1121.jpg

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
