heck, any good looking cub would be worthy to mow one strip down a sidewalk and set as a lawn ornament the rest of the time in my book. Who says you gotta have a big yard for a nice toy?

Our new Neighbors moved in. They have a 455 John Deere with a 54" Deck, the kissing cousin to my X700. They mowed last Saturday with it. We have 1/4 acre lots.

My 782 with the 50" deck won't fit through the fence gate, nor will my X700, so I won't be doing any mowing except maybe the front yard every now and then for some excercising of the tractor.

When I had my 1450, I had to take an extension off of the tiller to get it through the gate, and then again to get it back out.

Might have to pull that fence down once the 782 is running again.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
