I don't know if anyone has ever noticed this, but most people who like John Deeres don't actually own one, or at least don't work on them themselves.

Other Deere Problems:
-JD can't even mount an engine in a ZT right, they are sideways
-I had to replace a battery in a JD ZT a couple weeks ago...and had to take the seat off to do it!

Long live Cub GTs, Ford tractors, and Dixie Chopper ZTs

I looked at JD's when I needed a big mower for my place but they were about $5K more then the Kubota new. I purchased my Kubota B7500 in 2001 and put 1050 hours on it so far with no major problems. I change the motor oil every 100 hours and the fuel and air every 200 hours. All other fluids are original in it and the original battery last 10 years. Mine has a 60" belly mower that will mow grass knee high with no problem and still has the original deck belt. My neighbor worked at a JD dealer that is now closed and he was telling me that they (JD) were having a hard time competing with Kubota.

ive had numerous JD tractors over the years (still have a few now) and have never had any major problems with any of them. worked on a few farms that were all John Deere and they are a nice tractor to run. my neighbor has a mixture of Kubota farm tractors (an MT9500 with loader and older M5500DT). the older one has a billion hours on the thing from being used snowplowing and being the farms main tractor and its still going. they just bought a JD 6215 tractor and that is a slick machine.

Just picked up a 317 with a GX620 Honda in it. Cosmeticly challenged and the wiring is a complete disaster but it's runs nice after I cleaned the carb. Has the front HYD ports. Maybe I can put some Cub sheet metal on it and paint it yellow just to make the JD kids nuts.

Not meaning any disrespect but you must have never drove an IH or CaseIH tractor. My grandpa farms with JD and my dad's and uncles IH tractors will run circles around my grandpa's tractors and the IH's are 15 years older! Also my dad's 1460 will run circles around my grandpa's 6620 JD combine which is ten years newer than the 1460 as well as my dad's 1680 will run circles around my grandpa's 9510 combine which is also 10 years newer than the 1680. Finally my friend who is a JD guy his dad just bought a 305 Magnum and he likes it better than his 7820 JD. I will never buy JD. IH always.

oh trust me, ive driven IH tractors before. infact, a 574, 966, 1066, 1466, 1086, 986, 3088, 3688, and a few magnums before. biggest one was a STX435 quad track and i still like the John Deere tractors better. IH made a great motor but their operator layout wasn't all that great. just my opinion. the 66s werent bad but the 86s sucked

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
