| Sharp

This one sure is sharp looking. Question about the grease fittings? Is there a cavity there to hold grease? And if so how much will it hold? Looks like an A-ONE job. luke |

Thanks for all the kind comments. I'm not sure how he did the fitting. I believe he drilled past the threads to give the grease a channel to go through which would give it a little chamber. I found another that was also added by the PO but I don't recall right now where it was. I was impressed with his home garage and IH farm tractors.

Most times we look at a po mod and just shake our heads but those grease fittings make us shake our heads in a positive manner. I am still looking for some time to come over and see your electrolysis set up.

I was impressed with the builders skills before his tour was over. I may have overpaid but the $ was for the boys horse and he said he rebuilt the engine and it had at best a couple hours on it. I still believe he did and did well with it since he did it for his son. We all walked away happy. Paul, you know where I'm at. Just call to make sure I'll be here. It looks like I'm gonna get out there as soon as I get the Brinly hitch and schedule the welding with Eric. You'll have to show me these things you've been up to since I was there.

First two pics are two more added grease fittings. Next is a plate added to cover the creeper holes. Last is the only thing I noticed out of whack and that's the choke cable tied with a wire. It hasn't been a problem so I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
