Solenoid bad or connection poles completely rusted up per your photo?

Merk, your ground looks to be a PO mod. Typically the ground is accomplished on the rear S/G chassis mounting bolt, instead of a separate wire.

Ok so I just put on the new solenoid and it cranked over fine with the key switch but now after like 5 min of me trying to start it ( not holding it on for more than 15 seconds and giving it breaks after) when I turn the key switch over nothing happens?

I can jump the solenoid with a screwdriver So do you guys think that I burnt this new solenoid out? or did the key switch go out?

Why would the solenoid burn out in such a hurry if thats the problem?

If it matters I bought the briggs 3 pole solenoid from TSC

These solenoids are basically just mini electro magnets that pull a plunger into contact with the two main lead wires running to it. The smaller wire trails off to the key switch, and I'd bet a donut that your switch was about to die anyway. No surprises there, I've had to replace the key switch in every last one of my old tractor purchases. I really don't think you "burned out" the solenoid.

So your S/G was spinning the motor over fine with a new solenoid eh? As you repair or replace the electrical system, things will only improve.

Not on a 1x8/9...that isn't a PO mod, that's factory.

I don't know why you would want to hook the safety switch to a toggle switch. I'm not a fan of by passing safety switches.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
